Pysanky For Peace Workshops At The Wenham Museum

May 14, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm

Pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs) are a traditional folk art that, according to legend,   prevent bad things from happening in the world… as long as enough are made. In this workshop you will will learn to make these intricately decorated eggs using the wax-resist method of dying. The morning session is for younger artists who will use cold wax; the   afternoon session is for older artists who will use a candle to melt wax and a special tool, called a kitska, to decorate the eggs. All supplies will be provided. Please note: caregivers can assist younger children in the morning session free of charge, but if they wish to   decorate their own egg they will have to purchase a ticket. Space is limited, so make sure to reserve your spot soon!

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Razom, an organization raising funds to provide critically needed medical supplies to Ukraine; learn more at https://razomforukraine.org/.

 10:30-11:30 am (caregiver/child, age 5-11); members $10; non-members $15

1:00-3:30 pm (age 12-adult); members $20; non-members $30
