Pysanky – Writing With Intention For Ukraine at REFUGE

March 21, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join founder Sarah Bachinger, founder of the Pysanky For Peace Project at REFUGE in Troy NY on Monday March 21 at 7pm for a workshop on the traditional Ukrainian art of pysanka writing. The event will begin with a guided meditation by REFUGE’s Chatelaine Tara to help facilitate the intentions that go into creating each design, and to offer up positive, peaceful energy to the people of Ukraine and their continued strength in fighting for their freedom.

Registration for the event is on a sliding scale of $10-$50, 100% of registration fees are being donated to RAZOM for Ukraine – a non-profit Ukrainian organization based in NYC that is working on providing humanitarian relief to those most affected by the crisis in Ukraine.

We also encourage you to donate your pysanka to the project for exhibition opportunities!

We are honored to host a workshop on the art of pysanky writing facilitated by Ukrainian-American artist Sarah Bachinger on Monday 3/21 from 7-9 pm. Participants will be asked to donate on a sliding-scale basis to the local 518Ukrainians/UCCA group as they are in need of donations to help ship the over 18,000 pounds of medical supplies that were recently donated to aid those affected by the war in Ukraine.
Limited seats available, link to register: https://www.refugetroy.com/eve…/pysanky-for-peace-workshop
The art of pysanky writing dates back to the ancient cultures of Ukraine. It has been said that if enough pysanky are created each year, it strengthens the chain that holds back evil from taking over the world. It is with these ancestral beliefs, sharing the knowledge of Ukrainian culture, and the unfolding war in Ukraine – the Pysanky For Peace Project was created.
