Though Easter is over - this project continues to work to raise funds for Ukraine, share Ukrainian culture and traditions and working for opportunities to highlight the work of Ukrainian folk artists. Beyond grateful that the Pysanky For Peace Project has been featured in Smithsonian Magazine - currently the article is on the site's homepage .... the link is included in the comments.

Truly thankful for this, as I am hoping that as this project continues to evolve, it helps to provide more opportunities to artists who are keeping these cultural traditions alive, sharing this knowledge and bringing to light the deep and rich traditions and skills sets that are required for mastering this art form. From my perspective - folk are is fine art - and that is a message I will continue to share throughout the evolution of this project.

Thank you to everyone who has helped the project soar! We have helped raise over $10,000 through the project initiatives - and we are just getting started! I can’t properly express what this has all meant to me personally - and this part of the project is setting the foundation for bigger things to come to help continue to foster cultural knowledge sharing, community art and connection and continuing to help support Ukraine and the artists who keep these traditions alive. Just because Easter is passing, does not mean this work will end - we encourage artists to continue to submit their pysanky to the collection and those who can donate and share your messages with Ukraine to keep the momentum going. Oh my! Look at this amazing collection of pysanky that has been gifted to the Pysanky For Peace Project’s ever growing collection from pysanky artist Deann Scearce from Iowa. Deann wrote to us letting us know she was looking for a way to help Ukraine and heard about the project through her local radio station - and felt that sending in pysanky that she has made over the years to the collection would be a way she could help. I can’t thank Deann enough for sending in such lovely pysanky and for such a generous submission. I will be photographing and archiving her work over the next few days - be sure to keep an eye on the Pysanky gallery on the website for more detailed photos of her submission - and if you can, please support the project by Sponsoring a pysanka as we work to secure further exhibition opportunities for our contributing pysanka artists to help raise funds for Ukraine and share the cultural history of this beautiful art form.
